He sent them out to proclaim the Kingdom of God.

Mission [ FRANÇAIS ][ ESPAGNOL ]

We undertake each of our ministries in a certain spirit and with the clear intention of acting in truth and mercy. Each one of them calls forth and addresses freedom, integrating the claims of peace and justice, and keeping humanization, even in its most modest forms, firmly a part of evangelization. In this our own way do we carry out Dominic's design.

Mindful of the social and cultural conditions around us, we prepare for the inbreaking of God's Kingdom by educating, in every way we can: youth ministry, on-going formation, liberation and the promotion of human dignity. As members of the People of God and sharers in the church's mission, we explicitly proclaim the salvation of all in Jesus Christ wherever possible, awakening and informing faith in youngsters and adults, evangelizing, taking up spiritual inquiry and leadership.

Dominican communities are communities of Holy Preaching. Mission strengthens communal life and is itself rooted in it. The total community is missionary when its way of life reflects what it wants to say and when its presence to others is coherent with its mission. (Constitutions # 4, 3 and 5)
