CRSD welcomes the Dominican Sisters of the Congregation of Our Lady of Grace (Chatillon)

Published : 5 September 2022

There is emotion in the air at the Norwegian convent of Sankta Katarinahjemmet on this 3rd of September ! Emotion and joy!

The Dominican Sisters of the Congregation of Our Lady of Grace (Chatillon) celebrate their entry into the Roman Congregation of St. Dominic, during a mass in their chapel in Oslo. We had already received the good news that the CIVCSVA had accepted this merger at the end of July. The official Vatican Decree, signed on August 8, 2022, the feast of St. Dominic, was accompanied by a letter with this invitation: "May this merger make our presence in the Church more effective.

Today, this official Act is celebrated with the Dominican family, with the friars and nuns of Oslo and a group of sisters from the CRSD: Sr. Ysabel, prioress general, members of the general government, Sr. Neli, Sr. Therese Marie, Sr. Gotzone, as well as Sr. Marie-Laure, provincial of France, Sr. Esther, prioress of the vicariate of Spain, Sr.

At noon the Eucharistic celebration took place, presided over by fr Paul-Dominique Masiclat. The reading of the Decree in English by Sr. Else-Britt, former Prioress General of Chatillon, was a highlight. Then, Sr. Ysabel invited each new sister to receive the Constitutions of the CRSD and welcomed them with a moving embrace. The aperitif allows us to meet again and to celebrate this historical moment with a good drink! The meal that followed continued the celebration and allowed us to make new acquaintances between brothers and sisters, joyfully mixing languages. Long live Dominican friendship! We conclude this memorable day by praying Vespers at the home of our Dominican brothers nearby. A new stage is beginning... it is up to us to continue this journey, day by day, following Christ and St Dominic.
